Michael Goldwater was brought up in a dark room, developing his film photographs from a young age! Back in the 1970s, his father was a commercial photographer, and Michael happily spent many hours working in his father’s photography studio. In his high school years, he was interested in film, running the school film club, making a short piece on super 8 mm film, and experimenting with scratch films. Michael studied classical clarinet at the University of Auckland and went on to play classical chamber and orchestral music. He also established a flourishing private teaching practice, teaching thousands of clarinet and saxophone students over the years. Michael's love for art led him back to photography which is now his main focus, along with his successful podcast, The Shape of Dialogue.
